Small Business Specialist Benefits: As part of the Small Business Specialist Community, you will receive:

·                                 Use of the Small Business Specialist logo to differentiate you from your competitors.

·                                 Exclusive designation in Microsoft resources:

o                                                        Microsoft Small Business Partner Finder - you will be included in the Partner Finder providing better visibility to potential customers.

·                                 Customized training and marketing tools to sell effectively.

·                                 Exclusive access to the Small Business Specialist Community web site on the Microsoft Partner Portal to help you make an impact with your small business customers.

Small Business Specialist Requirements:

  1. Partner organization must be at least a Registered Member in the Microsoft Partner Program (MSPP).
  2. Registered Members must have an active subscription to either Action Pack or Empower (waived for Certified and Gold Certified partners).
  3. Partner organization must have an employee who has associated their individual profile with their organization profile in MSPP and who has passed the Small Business Sales and Marketing Skills Assessment.
  4. Partner organization must have an employee who has associated their individual profile with their organization profile in MSPP and who has passed one of two technical exams (see below).
  5. After meeting 1-4, any person with MSPP administrative rights at the organization level within MSPP may enroll their company at: https://partner.microsoft.com/smallbizspecialist.

Exams:

  1. Small Business Sales and Marketing Skills Assessment is free, and can be re-taken until a passing score of 70% is achieved.
  2. Technical Exams require preparation and testing fees apply (pass one of two listed below):
  • MCP Exam 70-282: "Designing, Deploying and Managing a Network Solution for a Small- and Medium-Sized Business" is appropriate for all Partners that sell into and support small business environments.
  • MCP Exam 74-134: "Pre-installing Microsoft Products and Technologies" is appropriate for Partners that have worked extensively with the OEM Pre-Installation Kit.
